Even though decentralized autonomous organizations, or DAOs, are getting increasingly popular for fundraising, auctioning, and further fair distribution of value, creating one is not something that can be done in a matter of a day without in-depth knowledge. Aragon intends to change that by creating a set of tools with which anyone can set up a DAO.
The products of Aragon include Voice, a gasless voting solution; Govern, a framework to create optimistically-governed (i.e., ones not requiring voting on every single issue) DAOs; voting platform Vocdoni, and Court, a dispute resolution protocol for issues too complex for smart contracts. The ANT token is required for the latter. Participants called Guardians are staking ANT in the Court protocol and are drafted to vote on an open issue. The higher the stake, the higher the chance to be drafted, and Guardians are expected to adhere to the plurality rule. If their vote deviates from the consensus, the locked tokens get slashed and redistributed to the Guardians who respected the plurality rule.
