What is Chiliz?

Chiliz is the blockchain platform developed by a Maltese fintech company of the same name. Its focus is on sports and entertainment, and Chiliz offers so-called fan tokens to teams and their fans. The point of fan tokens is to provide a way for fans to meaningfully engage with their favorite team: securing exclusive deals, voting on club-related proposals, and more.
The flagship product of Chiliz is the media platform Socios.com for sports fans. Its native currency is the CHZ token, supported on several blockchains: Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, TRON, and proprietary sidechain Chiliz. With CHZ, fans purchase the fan tokens of the club they are supporting and then participate in club-related events and activities. The Chiliz blockchain uses a Proof-of-Authority consensus mechanism which is partially centralized but secure and provides a safe environment for fans and teams to interact.
