What is Tron?

Tron is a decentralized entertainment and content-sharing platform that uses blockchain and peer-to-peer (P2P) technology. The project was founded by Justin Sun in 2017 and is currently one of the largest blockchain projects in terms of market capitalization and user base. TRON’s native token, TRX, can be used to purchase content and applications within the TRON ecosystem.

The Tron Protocol represents the foundation for a truly decentralized Internet – one where anyone can upload or download digital content including but not limited to text, videos, and photos with no central authority. The protocol also ensures authenticity and ownership, which are maintained by cryptographically signing all content with a private key. The Tron protocol also offers high throughput, high scalability, and high availability for all Decentralized Applications (DAPPs) in the TRON ecosystem.
